Day 1: Nouakchott, Mauritania
Arrive Nouakchott; one of our guides and transfer to Hotel.

Day 2: Nouakchott – Atar – Ouadane
After breakfast, we depart for the Oasis and the town of Ouadane, passing through Atar along the way. We’ll make a stop to explore the vibrant local market of Atar before continuing our journey. Upon arrival in Ouadane, you can unwind in your hotel, equipped with private bathrooms featuring both hot and cold water.
In the evening, we’ll have the opportunity to visit the majestic Eye of the Sahara and explore the ancient city of Ouadane, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Prepare to be enchanted by the rich history and captivating beauty of this extraordinary destination.

Day 3: Ouadane-Chinguetti
After breakfast, embark on a drive to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Chinguetti, a revered city in Islam. Explore its library and various historical monuments, including the iconic Friday Mosque of Chinguetti, a symbol of national pride for Mauritania. Along the way, make a stop at Amougjar to marvel at prehistoric paintings dating back 5000 years. Our journey to Chinguetti, will take us across 75 miles of fesh-fesh, the true sand dune desert with no tracks, where we will experience the isolation of the lost cities of the desert.

Day 4: Chinguetti – Zarga – M’Haireth
We journey to the renowned mountainous chain of Zarga, where after lunch, adventurous souls can indulge in climbing and hiking amidst its majestic peaks. Following our exhilarating activities, we proceed to the M’Haireth Oasis, the largest oasis in the Adrar region, and establish our cozy camp adjacent to the Mheirith date palms and natural swimming pool. Here, you can relish a refreshing swim at your leisure. As night falls, immerse yourself in the enchanting sight of twinkling stars while savoring a traditional meal prepared by our dedicated team over a crackling fire.

Day 5: M’Haireth – Barbara – Terjit – Nouakchott
After breakfast, we drive to the Oasis of Tergit, where we bathe in natural springs and experience the serenity of sitting beneath towering palm trees. Engage in conversations with locals to gain insight into nomadic life in the area. Following lunch in one of the most beautiful oases in the country, we depart for Nouakchott

Day 6: Nouakchott – Departure
In the morning we will visit the markets and the museum, after luch there will be enough time for a swim in the Atlantic Ocean and a visit to the bustling fishing port , at night transfer to the airport for your onward flight.

Important Things Bring
If you have specific medication that you take, please bring enough of that medication with you and ensure it is in your carry-on in case of lost luggage. Sometimes it is hard to find certain medication in Mauritania, unless you have time to order them and wait a few days for them to arrive. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure you have those medications with you.
- A flashlight is important for walking around at night in the desert or elsewhere.
- A lighter is essential for burning trash in the desert, such as toilet paper, to avoid pollution.
- A reusable water jug to store your mineral water in, to avoid the use of several plastic water bottles and reduce pollution.
- Bank cards that work in Mauritania are MasterCard and Visa. ATMs are only available in Nouakchott. So, if you plan to buy souvenirs, make sure to exchange some cash or use the ATM in Nouakchott before Starting the tour.
